Young Science Achievers Awards Dinner and Symposium

Weehawken High School had two teams competing against over 100 other teams from 30+ schools from New York and New Jersey. All students were recognized as being winners since their research proposals were accepted and they were all given grants to pay for the equipment they needed to complete their research.
Congratuations to:
Xavier Batista, Carolina Valasquez, Genna Fukada, Ellis & Chase Jennings who did research on "The Use of Piezo Electric Crystals as an Alternative Energy Source."

Cristal Abud, Alioune Diane and Pearl Lee who did research on "The Effects of Ultraviolet Radiation on U.V. Sensitive Light."

Special congratulations go to Cristal, Alioune and Pearl as they took Honorable Mention!

Congratulations to the following students for their acceptances into prestigious and exciting summer programs:

Cristal Abud has been accepted into the 2013 Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Summer Program (MITES) for Science & Technology.
Pearl Lee will be taking classes in the Engineering & Science (MOSTEC) Program.
Marcella Desharnais was accepted in Columbia University's Summer Program for High School Students. She will be studying "The Science of Psychology."
Mithin Nair & Aabha Gami were accepted into the Steven's Institute of Technology's Summer ECOES Program
