Pandas

  1. I.Introduction:

Pandas are bearlike animals inhabiting bamboo forests in the mountains of central China. There are 2,500 mature pandas thought to remain in the wild. They have a striking coat of black and white with a bulky body and round face.

  1. II.How Big are Pandas?

Large pandas grow about 250 pandas (115 kg). Larger than a human. The average size of a male panda grows to about 3 ft (1m), or as tall as a shoulder and about 2,000 pounds. Also pandas are cuddly mammals. Pandas have a big head, a heavy body, round ears, and a short tail.

lll. What does a newborn Panda look like?

The newborn panda is blind and covered with only a thin, all white coat. Its eyes begin to open at about 45 days, and the first wobbly steps are taken at 75-80 days. By about 14 months, at which age the milk teeth have erupted, the infant readily consumes bamboo, and at 18-24 months weaning from the mother takes place.

  1. IV.What is a Panda’s favorite food?

Pandas have the most specialized diet of any of the bears. The pandas diet is almost two pieces of bamboo (arrow and bamboo). They eat 40 pounds (18 kg) of food each day. The bamboo supply is very low. Pandas have to eat 12 hours every day.

  1. V.Where do Pandas live?

Pandas live in the wild. Giant pandas only live in a few mountain ranges in central western China, mainly in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Ganus Provinces. Pandas like living in China because it is warmer there.

  1. VI.How do Pandas Behave?

Giant pandas are mostly shy, solitary animals. They live alone. A small group of pandas may share a large feeding territory, usually only meeting to breed. Scientists don’t know very much about the lives of these animals.

  1. VII.Do Pandas have a Sense of Smell?

The giant panda’s solitary nature is underscored by its reliance on its sense of smell. Each animal confines its activities to a range of about 4 to 6 square km (1.5 to 2.3 square miles), but these home ranges often overlap substantially.
