I. Introduction:

    Wolves are the largest member of the dog family. The length of a wolf is 4.5 to 6.5 feet (1.4 to 2 meters). They weigh 60 to 100 lbs (27 to 45 kilograms). Their fur’s color is generally gray or black although some wolves are reddish. Their babies weigh 1 pound (0.45 kilograms).


  1. II.  What are Wolves?:

    Their kingdom is Animalia. Animalia means taxonmic kingdom comprising of all living or extinct animals. The phylum is Chordata and means true vertebrates and animals having a notochord. The class is Mammalia and means warm blooded vertbrates characterized by mammary gland in the female. The order is Carnivora and means wolves and other members of the suborder. Family: Felidae and means wild dogs and wold cats. Genus: Canis is a type of Genus of the wild dogs, wolves, and Jackals. They are good hunters and have good eye sight, teeth, hearing, and jaws.


III. What do Wolves Eat and Eating Habits?:

    Wolves eat Moose, Deer, Antelope, and Caribou. Caribou is am Arctic deer with large antlers. They are called “rain deer” in Eurasia and Caribou in North America. The leader eats first when the parks done defeating there meal.





  1. IV.How long do Wolves live?

    Wolves live up to 13 to 15 years. There were more wolves a hundred years ago then now. Long ago, there were 2,000,000 of wolves a hundred and now we have 1000,000. Luckily, we can help them out and not kill them.


  1. V.What are Their Groups Called and how many are in a pack?

    The wolves groups is called a pack. Wolves’ packs must have a greater then 30 wolves. They howl loudly when about to attack to worn there enemy.


VI. Why do Wolves travel in packs?

    Wolves will never live in Australia and Antarctica. They use to be common to most of the Northern Hemisphere. Currently, they are found in Canada in the greatest numbers, and can also occur in much smaller numbers in Russia, Northern Europe, and  some isolated regions in the United States. Most wolves in the United States are in Alaska and some isolated areas of Minnesota found in the Northern Rocky mountains. there are also a very few (22 as of December 1999 in Arizona.) They live in deserts and Forests.


  1. VII.Conclusion:

    Wolves are wild mammals that can eat 20 pounds of meat at a time. They can kill animals much larger then them selves. The wolf babies are called pups. Pups are born in the spring. The mother wolf can have four to seven pups. Wolves have more then 30 subspecies. They are beautiful and strong mammals. Wolves are in the same family as dogs.
