Asthma

Do you know what asthma is? Asthma is a disease that both children and adults can get. It is a disorder that is caused by allergies. People with asthma are most likely to be allergic to dust, pollen, animals, foods, or sometimes other things. If you are allergic to these things, you might have asthma. Asthma causes you to wheeze and cough. These are called asthma symptoms.

One reason why people get asthma is by simply walking down the street. This is because of pollution. The makes unhealthy air . So when people  breathe it in, it makes their lungs get weaker and weaker. Then the symptoms of asthma kick in. You start to wheeze and cough. So that is a great idea to convince your community to stop polluting.

An attack can be very scary for someone. An asthma attack usually starts with wheezing and fast breathing. The chest gets tight. Sometimes the neck also gets tight. The persons breaths start to get shorter and shorter. So it gets harder or even impossible for the person to talk. Their heart starts to pump pump faster. A doctor should give the person a pump that sends air straight to the lungs. The person should then feel better.

Bronchiole tubes are important to the lungs. These tubes help air flow through the lungs. If you didn’t have bronchiole tubes, you wouldn’t be able to breathe. People with asthma don’t have the same bronchiole tubes as others. Theirs are filled with mucus that hurts the bronchiole tubes. So the tubes get really red and sore. That makes  the airways thinner. It also makes it hard to breathe.

What has a higher risk of getting asthma? Is it an 11 year old person or a 27 year old person? The answer is an 11 year old person. This is because the person is younger than the other. If you pay attention closely, you will realize that you breathe faster when you are excited. Well, scientists realized that children do it more than adults. In fact, much more often. So since children breathe in more, the more polluted air gets in their system. Its makes the lungs unhealthy.

Do you know what an asthma inhaler is? Its a device that sends asthma medication straight to your bronchiole tubes. Asthma inhalers can send the medication in many kinds. There are dry powder inhalers, metered dose inhalers, and some others. They give off different kinds of medications, but they all do the same thing.

Did you know that obese people have a better chance of getting asthma? Scientists studied and they say that more obese people get asthma than overweight or healthy people. 36.2% of America has asthma. 11.2% are healthy, 10% are overweight, and 15% are obese. Scientists are still trying to look for the reason why.

More females in America have a better chance of getting asthma than males in America. This is because males are stronger in the upper body than females. So it is easier for a females lung to get sick. Therefore, more females have asthma. In America, 46.5% of females have asthma and 40.7% of males in America have asthma.

Did you ever have a et such as a dog or cat? Did the animal keep wheezing? Thats probably because  the animal had asthma. Thats right, animals get asthma too! They get asthma attacks. The only thing that is different is that animals don’t use inhalers.

There is s device that can tell you the risks of an asthma attack. It is called a peek flow meter. It measures the long or short exhales in percentage. If the exhale is below 80%, there is a chance of  a small attack. If the exhale is below 50%, there is a chance of a serious attack.

There are many triggers, or causes, for asthma. One very unusual one is stress. If you are really stressed, there is a chance of a panic attack. It makes your heart pump really fast. The lungs get little air and you loose your breath. That makes your lungs uncomfortable.

In conclusion, I realized that anyone with asthma could live the same life as others. They are no different. There are many celebrities that have asthma. It may be a struggle, but you can get through it and be very successful in life if you put your mind to it.
